Case Study: Geoff Reframed His Value, Signed Bigger Clients, and Hit Six Figures
Geoff Welch is a consultant and coach who helps leaders unlock the potential in their people and build teams that deliver outsized results. He worked with me 1-1 for 6 months.
What made you want to work with Greg?
When I reached out to Greg, I was at a point in my career where I had done one business for many, many years and had added on consulting and coaching as a way of augmenting that business. It was time to let go of the first business and move exclusively into coaching and consulting.
What was your biggest hesitation?
My biggest hesitation when it came to working with Greg was absolutely around the investment. I recognize as a coach that a big part of the outcome is not just how the coach can guide you and help you see different perspectives, but also what you do about it. It can be convenient to leave yourself some fail safes or ways to back out. Making the investment was going to force my hand and say, we’re doing this or we’re not doing it.
I had worked with Greg in the past, and I knew he was absolutely great at what he does. He always has this way of leading me through a process of examination in a way that feels totally organic, like you have someone who really cares about getting you to the other side safely.
It was really a matter of asking myself: am I ready to not just make the financial investment, but to wholeheartedly commit to saying, this is where I’m going unapologetically, and Greg is going to help me get there.
What results did you achieve together?
Since working with Greg:
✅ I found and signed my first client,
✅ I had my first six-figure year, and
✅ I left the business that I had been a part of for many years to focus exclusively on consulting and coaching.
He really helped me reframe the value in the coaching and consulting services I provide. A lot of what was preventing me from being successful—charging more, pursuing more interesting clients who could pay more—was in my head. It was how I thought about myself as a coach and the doubts that come with just getting started.
He helped me not just pursue clients slightly beyond the level I was working with, but to make monumental leaps forward and see that I can serve clients I once considered out of my league. Those clients, by the way, also have completely different tolerances for pricing. I can now charge rates I never would have thought possible when I was first starting out.
What would have happened if you hadn't worked with Greg?
If I hadn’t hired Greg, it absolutely would have taken me much longer to get where I am now. It’s possible I would have figured it out on my own, but it would have been more painful and taken a lot longer. He helped me move from A to Z in a much faster period of time. Honestly, I don’t even like to think about what might have happened if I hadn’t worked with him.
Who should NOT work with Greg?
The only real reason I can think that investing in Greg’s coaching would be a bad idea is if you’re not ready to do the work. If you’re hoping someone is going to come in and just fix everything without you making changes, you’ll probably be disappointed.
But what I’ve experienced with Greg over and over again is that when we’ve worked together and I’ve actually applied the observations and advice, I’ve made progress. I’ve multiplied my progress.
If you’re ready to change your business, he is an incredible ally and resource to have. I regret nothing about working with Greg, and I couldn’t recommend him more highly.
